The Combined Competitive Examination consists of two consecutive stages:

Preliminary examination
The preliminary examination will be divided into two separate 2-hour papers with objective-type multiple-choice questions.

- This paper is of a qualifying nature.
- There will be negative marking for incorrect answers, as detailed below:
- (i) There are four alternatives for the answers to every question. One-fourth of the total mark assigned to one question will be deducted for the wrong answer marked by the candidate.
- (ii) If a candidate marks more than one answer, it will be treated as a wrong answer even if one of the given answers happens to be correct.
- Paper II of the C.C. (Prelim) Examination is a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.

The main examination consists of two stages
