SSC CPO 2024: Age Limit

The age reckoning deadline is August 1, 2023, as per DoP&T OM No. 14017/70/87-Estt. (RR) dated July 14, 1988. The age limit for the positions is 20–25 years, which means that candidates must have been born between August 2, 1999, and August 1, 2004.

All positions require a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or equivalent. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent examination can apply, but they must have the essential qualifications by the cut-off date of August 1, 2024.

For the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police for male candidates only: To be eligible for the position of Sub Inspector in the Delhi Police, male candidates must have a valid LMV (motorbike and car) driving licence on the day set for Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests (PE&MT).

SSC CPO 2024: Medical Standard

  • Medical Examination Process: After successfully completing Paper-II, all applicants will be subjected to a medical examination conducted by either the CAPFs’ Medical Officer or another Medical Officer or Assistant Surgeon of Grade-I status from a Central or State Government Hospital or Dispensary. Candidates who are declared unfit during the detailed medical examination (DME) will have a review medical examination (RME), which should take place shortly after the DME, preferably the next day. The judgement made by the Re-Medical Board/Review Medical Board shall be final, and no appeals or representations will be considered.
  • Eye sight: Minimum near vision should be N6 (better eye) or N9 (worse eye). The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 (better eye) and 6/9 (worse eye) in both eyes without any correction, such as wearing glasses or undergoing surgery to improve visual acuity. For right-handed individuals, the right eye is the better eye, and vice versa.
  • The candidate should not have knock knees, flat feet, varicose veins, or squints, and have excellent colour vision.
  • Selected candidates for sub-inspector positions must pass 7 obstacle events as part of their training. Failure to pass may result in dismissal from the force.

  • Tattoo: Tattoos will be allowed as per the following stipulations only:
    • Content: Tattoos depicting religious symbols or figures and the name, as followed in the Indian Army, are permitted.
    • Location: Tattoos marked on traditional sites of the body, like inner aspect of forearm but only left forearm, being non saluting limb or dorsum of the hands shall be allowed.
    • Size: Size must be less than ¼ of the particular part (Elbow or Hand) of the body

SSC CPO 2024: Selection Procedure

The examination will include Paper-I, Physical Standard Test (PST/PET), Paper-II, and Detailed Medical Examination. All of the examination stages are necessary.

The process of filling out the online application for the examination consists of two parts:

  • One-time Registration.
  • Filling out the online application for the examination.

Part 1:

Follow the following steps for one time registration:

  1. Before proceeding with one-time registration, keep the following information and documents ready:
    • Mobile number (to be verified through OTP).
    • Email ID (to be verified through OTP).
    • Aadhaar Number. If the Aadhaar number is not available, please give one of the following ID numbers:. (You will be required to show the original document at a later stage.)

  3. Complete the application form by providing all required information and ensuring accuracy. Once complete, click the submit button.
  4. Proceed to pay the SSC Selection Post 2024 application fee via the accessible online channel.
  5. Upload the required documents in the format and size specified in the rules.
  6. Attach your disability certificate number if you fit the benchmark disability group.
  7. Finally, print off the completed application form and fee receipt for future reference and use.

SSC CPO Application Fee

There are no fees for women candidates, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), or Ex-Servicemen who are eligible for reservations.  Fees can only be paid online using BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or a Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay credit or debit card. Candidates can make their online fee payments up until March 29, 2024 (2300 hours).
